Hey everyone! We realize it’s been radio silence for a long, long while but we want to let you guys know we’re still actively working on this project and aren’t going anywhere. We care deeply about Rove and are confident we will have a successful release and hit many milestones.
We’re still in the deep of the core development of the game, focusing on gameplay features like the guns system and looting. The other portion of our time has been spent investing in the map and the design and layout of monuments. We’re taking the time to make sure the attention to detail and ambience in Rove is truly noticeable and impressive.
The team has been spending a lot of time recently on creating a custom model library which basically allows us to decorate the map with all our custom plants and furniture more easily and efficiently.
We’ve spent a lot of time redecorating and improving on our existing monuments. Here’s a peek at the Police Station interior, right outside the Captain’s office.
We’ve also focused on amping up the custom vegetation in each of the biomes to really give that unique feel. We think this helps the landscape look a lot less boring and a lot more detailed, especially paired with our ambient sounds system.
Recently we added a new custom fog effect, built into our custom resource pack to work with all clients. We feel this is a definite improvement to the game and adds to the immersion we want you to experience when playing Rove. Optionally, you can disable this in-game.
We know this isn’t what you want to hear, but NOT just yet.. but we promise soon. We’re confident internally that we will be able to make full release this year and we’re on track for that to happen. Hopefully in one of our next few blog posts (which will be happening more often now) we’ll be able to announce a release date.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, it’s glad to know you’re still out there, and now you know we are too. If you’re interested in Rove, share this project with a friend and let them know we’ll be releasing this in the near future. We can’t wait to see you guys playing Rove!
